Service is great and all the dishes I have tried have been good. Not sure what the previous reviewer expects from a $5 meal. It's great for Chinese take-out. The "yellow rice" seems to be the norm in the Jacksonville area. I'm not really fond of it either (have had it other places but not here) so I just stick to steamed white rice. Easy. Also, New Wok will cook up some fried rice in the traditional way with soy sauce if requested.

Love this place! It has become my go-to place for Chinese delivery ever since it opened. Better than any other Chinese takeout I've tried in the area. The food is very good and portions are huge. Service is friendly - they have come to know me and will even suggest some of my regular items when I call to order. And they save my payment information which makes ordering even easier! I've liked everything I've tried here but particular favorites are the Orange Chicken, steamed dumplings, Shrimp and Garlic sauce, Mongolian Beef, and well, everything else, too.

This place is great. Do not let the other reviewer scare you away. The staff is very friendly, delivery is quick, and the food always tastes fresh. I have been to many other Chinese takeout places at the beach and this is one of the best around here. I have eaten here many times and the food is always consistently delicious.

STINGY. The food is pretty good for this area (not as good as in New York though). We'd been ordering at least 3xs a month for the past year or so then we noticed a lot of skimping on portions of the good stuff ( less chicken and more sauce, smaller (tiny)dirty shrimp, Lo Mein 95% noodles). And they charge for every little thing (2nd bag of fried noodles for LARGE soup, tiny cup of Hoisin, etc.) Don't bother to complain unless you like getting yelled at. Being in the restaurant biz all my life, I know that loyal customers don't like "cheapness". Neither do new customers.

Very good entrees and soups. Curry is good, sesame chicken is good, beef and broccoli is also good. Just for takeout or delivery, there's really no place to sit if you want to dine in.

The person who answered the phone and took our take-out order was very rude - he put me on hold twice before even starting to take my order. As for the food, hot and sour soup was very good though my local Chinese place puts way more mushrooms in theirs. My kids liked the plain fried rice with 2 eggs added($1 per egg). We thought the veggie eggfooyong was disappointing. Bean sprouts don't belong in this dish. Also when I asked for some hot sauce(the one with the chili seeds in it), the rude dude told me to pick the orange hot sauce packets which I don't want to put on my food - it has red #40 color and who knows when it was made. Since I could see the chili seeds at the bottom of our hot and sour soup, I know they have it.

Super fast delivery on a rainy Sunday evening when leaving the house wasn't on my list of things to do. Food was good. Pork egg rolls were delicious and the vegetable Lo mien was loaded with veggies. The portions are huge! The gentleman who took my order was very nice and professional. I don't crave Chinese food often, but when I do I'll be ordering from New Wok.

The best Chinese food I've ever had! It actually tastes like real chicken and not just fried mystery meat. The prices are a bit steep but I don't mind paying just because it is quality food.

This is a delivery or pick up only place with one table for sitting in. The food is pretty good. Not the best but nothing to complain about. Ordered takeaway and picked it up ourselves. The food was prepared quickly and everything we ordered was present. The second time we went for delivery and totally new food. However, this time it was on thanksgiving. The holiday meant it was a 45 min wait but considering They are one of the only places open it makes sense. You could hear the phones ringing off the hook. (Still waiting for delivery)

This is our go to Chinese place. Everything is delicious! Last summer we had chinese exchange students and we brought them here and they Loved it! Said it was just like the foods they have at home, but for holidays. The staff made them feel super welcome speaking with them in mandarin, and even offered to make them whatever they wanted off menu. One of the boys decided America was a great place and he probably wants to live here one day after that! LOL! We refuse to order from anywhere else. Currently waiting on a delivery now! Can't wait till it gets here!

So glad this place has opened up! Definitely the best Chinese Food at the beaches - and they deliver! The owners are very polite and friendly, the food is reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. It also seems to be a better food quality than the other beaches Chinese food we've had. Added bonus - they MAKE the dumplings from scratch every morning! They don't come frozen in a bag like most places, and they are very delicious!

We had the General Tso chicken, the honey chicken combo, house fried rice and I was so lucky I saw the girl over the counter eating duck and was able to order some of that! The Duck was so delicious that's why I gave them a 5!, because it was so pleasant I love this place it tastes like Chans used to.

I give it 2 stars because the guy that took our order was nice. However, you can't tell someone their food will be ready in 20 min and 45 min later we are still waiting for our food. I understand they were busy but seriously 45 min later and still waiting.... I ordered lo mein and orange chicken and the husband ordered something similar to the orange chicken. I just have to say it was all bad. The lo mein was so greasy. I mean ridiculously greasy and way too salty. The orange chicken was not crunchy because it was literally swimming in the sauce. That's exactly what my husband's order looked like as well. Never again. You can always tell if a place is good if their orange chicken is good and this place is terrible. This place came highly recommended and I'm not to sure how or why.

They've officially won me over. They always greet me by my name, remember my last orders, and tonight, when I requested something authentic and less "American", man oh man did they deliver. It isn't on the menu -- and from now on I promise myself to never order from the menu again; strictly from staff and chef recommendations! They are amazing! -- but the shrimp & ginger & scallions was sooo delicious. The handmade dumplings, perfect complement. I am amazed this is the quality of food we can get delivered to our actual home. AMAZING JOB, NEW WOK! I'm going to get something new every single time from now on, go ahead and surprise me :D

Talk about a time when direct mail advertising really worked. I found the menu in my mailbox when I got home from work. I had no intention of ordering Chinese and tossed it aside. After an extended happy hour in AB, I realized I didn't want to go pick up dinner, and found the New Wok menu. I looked them up on Yelp to find 4 stars. My last Chinese delivery order ended in disaster (Choi's), I decided to give it a try. Yelp indicated that they were closing in 20 mins. I called in a panic, expecting them to tell me they weren't taking any more delivery orders. Thankfully, they said no problem. I ordered the chicken lo mien combo (which comes with fried rice and an egg roll). They told me I didn't meet the $10 minimum for delivery (that's fair), so I ordered the wonton soup, knowing I'd have Chinese food for the entire weekend. She asked if I had cash and I didn't so I gave her my card over the phone - didn't seem like a big deal. About 20 minutes later, the food arrives at my door. The portions were huge (I probably ate 1/10th of it) and delicious, as far as delivery Chinese goes. This will definitely be my go-to! So glad they sent me that menu :).

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
